Rahil B. Roopani

Experienced Hair Restoration Surgeon

Dr. Rahil B. Roopani is a fellowship-trained hair restoration surgeon and physician leader. He is committed to advancing the field of hair restoration surgery through research and by providing excellent patient care. He has dedicated his career to improving the patient experience in their hair restoration journey through direct patient care and his organizational leadership in order to create systems and teams that put patients first.

 

Dr. Roopani graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts in biology from the University of Texas Austin. He was selected for the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He then completed medical school and earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas at Houston. He completed his internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and internal medicine residency at the University of Texas at Houston.

 

He developed an interest in business and leadership at an early age and actively pursued business and entrepreneurial interests throughout his medical school and post-graduate training. After practicing for several years, he developed a deep interest in hair restoration surgery, particularly the intersection of science and artistry. He completed an International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS)-approved year-long hair restoration surgery fellowship and concomitantly was the inaugural business-healthcare fellow. His fellowship program was one of only six fellowship programs in the United States approved by the ISHRS.

He is passionate about hair restoration and physician leadership in order to create healthcare organizations that achieve excellence in the quality of their care, optimize the patient experience, value physicians and other clinicians, and foster a positive work environment.

With his background, Dr. Roopani is dedicated to providing a holistic, patient-centered approach to hair loss. His research interests include the connection between hair loss and disorders such as nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, pro-inflammatory states, and conditions such as metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular disease. He has authored numerous papers in the medical literature on hair loss, hair restoration surgery, and optimizing patient outcomes. He has contributed to presentations at international meetings including the ISHRS World Congress.

 

He enjoys the artistry of hair restoration and the opportunity to improve patients’ lives one hair at a time. He founded the Root Hair Institute in Bellevue along with Dr. Natalie Kash in order to provide patients a truly comprehensive approach to hair loss including diagnostics, medical hair loss solutions, and surgical hair restoration. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, traveling, and skiing.
