Dr. Natalie Kash is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained hair restoration surgeon committed to advancing the field of hair loss and hair restoration. She is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of hair loss.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology at Texas A&M University, where she graduated summa cum laude as valedictorian. She then graduated with a doctor of medicine from the University of Texas at Houston/McGovern Medical School at the top of her class. She was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was chosen as both the Outstanding Graduating Medical Student in Dermatology and the Outstanding Graduating Medical Student in Internal Medicine. Dr. Kash then completed a transitional year internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and dermatology residency at the joint program of the University of Texas at Houston McGovern Medical School and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
She served as chief resident during her final year. Following residency, she then completed one of only six International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS)-approved hair restoration surgery fellowships in the United States. She then practiced dermatology focusing on hair loss and hair restoration surgery in Florida prior to moving to Washington.

Dr. Kash has been committed to excellent clinical care for her patients
and to advancing the field of hair loss and hair restoration through her clinical practice, research endeavors, and teaching. She has published twelve peer-reviewed publications and four textbook chapters. Additionally, she has given numerous presentations at state, national, and international meetings including at the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery World Congress.
She serves as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and was recently selected to serve on the American Academy of Dermatology’s JAAD Publications Committee. She also serves as co-editor for the Hair Transplant Forum International which is the official publication of the ISHRS. She regularly lectures dermatologists and dermatology residents across the country on hair loss and hair restoration. She also serves on the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery Fellowship Training Committee to help ensure that the next generation of hair restoration surgeons receives appropriate training as part of formal fellowship programs.

Dr. Kash along with Dr. Roopani founded Root Hair Institute in order to create a truly comprehensive hair loss and hair restoration surgery center to provide the highest level of care to patients suffering from hair loss. She diagnoses and works up all types of hair loss and her multi-pronged evidence-based approach to the treatment of hair loss spans from topical agents, oral supplements, oral prescription agents, device-based treatment, injectable therapies, and hair restoration surgery including both follicular unit excision and follicular unit transplant.
Her level of expertise and understanding of hair loss as both a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained hair restoration surgeon is unique, and she enjoys being able to effectively treat all forms of hair loss and improve patients’ lives. In her spare time, Dr. Kash enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and dog.
